Ken-Ton Educators Memory Honored with new Educational Grant On Monday March 15th, 2004 the Ken-Ton Friends of Youth Foundation, kicked off of the Elsie Jepson Educational Award. The announcement took place at Cameos on Niagara Falls Boulevard in the midst of a celebration of the educators life and the organizations mission. Ken-Ton UFSD School Superintendent Steven Achramovitch was on hand as were friends and family of Elsie. In his remarks, Achramovitch pledged to dedicate a display in the Districts Administration Building to honor Elsie and the annual recipient of the award. The award will be in the form of a grant up to $750.00, to provide financial assistance to an individual who is either classified by the Committee on Special Education and who is going on to further their education, or individuals who are going to school for Special Education training. Applications for the award are available at the Town of Tonawanda Youth, Parks and Recreation Department, 2440 Sheridan Drive or on line. Completed applications must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from a current instructor and must be received by May 15, 2006.
